Kristin Nelson is a lifelong resident of Chambers County, where she was raised by her hardworking parents, Melvin and Donna Pike. Her late father worked in the blue-collar industry and her mother served the Chambers County Board of Education for 38 years – instilling in Kristin a deep respect for faith, family, education, and community service.
While Kristin has served in both public and private sectors, including seven years with City of Valley in administration and three years as a 3rd-grade teacher at Lanett City Schools, her most meaningful role has been homeschooling her boys through Classical Conversations since 2015. She has served as a tutor and local representative of the program, working to help other families thrive in home education.
In recent years, Kristin has returned to work part-time at Harris Gray LLC, while continuing to serve her community with passion and dedication. She is a worship leader at Fairfax Methodist Church, Secretary of the Junior Variety Club, President of the EAMC Lanier Auxiliary Board, founder of the Chambers County Young Republicans, and currently serves as Chairman of the Chambers County Republican Party.
In the Alabama Legislature, Kristin will be committed to preserving the values that make Chambers County and Lee County strong – faith, family, integrity, and service. She’s prepared to work hard and deliver proven results for our community.
